Election Day is Monday, October 25, 2010.

Voters in the City of St. Catharines will cast their ballots for Mayor, local City Councillors, Regional Councillors, Separate and Public School Board Trustees. Casting a ballot allows voters to choose who will make decisions about the facilities, services and programs in our community.

This website will be updated regularly with information on the 2010 Municipal Election and Candidates. Candidates profiles are available to keep voters informed about who is running. For more information click on the link "Meet the Candidates".

On December 17, 2009, Bill 212, schedule21, section 8, Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (MEA) reform was proclaimed.

Highlights to the Amendments

* Voting day moved from November 8, 2010 to October 25, 2010. (All dates that are "fixed" on voting day will change  accordingly).

*Nominations may be filed from January 4, 2010 to September 9, 2010 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 10, 2010.

*Withdrawal of nominations will be permitted until 2 p.m. on nomination day (September 10, 2010).
